Heru builds platforms for the next era of human biology. Haeckel is the consumer surface, the place you upload your DNA, talk to Mirror, and leave understanding yourself more deeply than any previous technology has allowed. More platforms are in development.
What is built today
22 genomic analyzers running on chip and whole-genome data. Ancestry across 60+ populations, gated on statistical significance. Phylogenetic Y-DNA and mtDNA trees, recursive traversal, back-mutation handling. Pharmacogenomics with 10 FDA Black Box drug-gene alerts. Polygenic risk via 6 methods (PRS-CS, LDpred2, Lassosum, SBayesR, C+T, ensemble). Phenotype prediction calibrated against HIrisPlex. Archaic introgression, Neanderthal and Denisovan, via S-star, ABBA-BABA D-statistics, and a 4-state Viterbi HMM.
On top of that, a Deterministic Biological Knowledge Graph that unifies variants up through biomarkers, pathways, cells, tissues, organs, and evolutionary history into a single user-specific structure. And Mirror, an AI entity built on Claude Opus 4.7 with voice, face, and lip-sync. Mirror is an interpreter trained on the user's own biology, growing more precise with every conversation.
Every inference is validated against 1000 Genomes and HGDP reference cohorts before it ships, and gated on confidence: below threshold it returns no result.
Who builds this
Leonardo Calle, founder, based in Lima. Technical architect. The pipeline runs end-to-end on real consumer chips and whole-genome data, the analyzers are calibrated against published ground-truth, and Mirror speaks back with the user's own biology in context.
The work is built by orchestrating frontier AI as a specialized team, each agent operating with its own domain, ownership, and constraints.
